Piedmont
Works Institute

Research on the government
of Piedmont, California

Piedmont Works Institute is an independent, nonpartisan research organization. Its purpose is to provide the residents of Piedmont with fact-based information about the operations and performance of the City of Piedmont.

The Institute’s first program is a year of listening, running through December 2027. During this period the Institute is asking residents three questions:

What does the city do well?

What would you change about how it works?

What should an independent, nonpartisan research organization in Piedmont measure?

Standards for the listening year. The Institute makes no recommendations and takes no positions on candidates, ballot measures, or matters pending before the City during the listening year, because the purpose of the year is to build a record, not to draw conclusions from an incomplete one. The Institute does not solicit or accept contributions during this period.

Participation. Residents may submit comment by email at hello@piedmontworks.org. Responses are confidential. Nothing is published in a form that identifies a respondent without permission.

Publication. The Institute will publish an interim account of what it has heard in summer 2027 and a complete report, What Piedmont Told Us, by December 2027, including findings the Institute did not expect.
